Morrisons recruitment team were overwhelmed after receiving 900 applications for jobs at the new Morrisons store in Bristol Hartcliffe.
The applications followed a three day recruitment event which ran from Sunday 22nd July to Tuesday 24th July. The event attracted a large number of people who were interested in working at the new store which is on schedule to open in November.
Gail Roberts, Recruitment Manager Retail Stores, said: "We have had a tremendous response from jobseekers in Bristol Hartcliffe showing great interest in the positions we have available at the new store. We are very positive as we move into the next stage of the recruitment process which will be interviewing."
The applicants will now be interviewed to fill the 300 available positions including café assistants, bakers, butchers and sales staff to serve on the stores Market Street fresh food counters, in addition to positions in replenishment in grocery and fresh food and checkout operators.
The new store, in Symes Avenue will house a wide range of goods from fresh food and grocery items to home and leisure goods along with beer, wines and spirits. It will feature an in-store café, dry cleaners and ‘Market Street'; Morrisons unique collection of traditional, specialist fresh food counters, including the butcher, baker and fishmonger. Morrisons Bristol Hartcliffe will also have a petrol filling station and car wash facility on site.
