The Provost of Renfrewshire, Councillor Celia Lawson, joined Morrisons Store Operations Director, Mark Gunter and Store General Manager, Stephen Bannan, to officially open Morrisons new Johnstone store to the public at on Monday, 30th July.
The ribbon cutting ceremony, to which members of the public were welcome, opened Morrisons 50th Scottish store, providing customers in Johnstone a unique shopping experience.
Features in the 82,000 sq ft new store include Market Street, Morrisons unique collection of individual fresh food shops, such as the butcher, the baker and the fishmonger, and a cafe, serving hot and cold meals and snacks all day.
Offering products from over 100 Scottish suppliers, all Morrisons fresh salmon is Scottish, as is its lamb and over 95% of beef. A wide range of locally sourced and traditionally made products are also available, including cheese such as Arran Cheddar and an extensive range over 30 single malts.
Stephen Bannan, Store General Manager, said:
