Morrisons, which opens in Bristol in September, has named the new store's general manager as John Kervell.
John began his career with the company over 23 years ago, working as a produce apprentice with Safeway. John has worked in a variety of management roles throughout the last few years, including three store general manager positions.
John is delighted to have been offered a brand new Morrisons store to manage, and brings a wealth of knowledge to the new Hartcliffe store, obtained over his expansive retail career.
John is looking forward to opening day and believes that he is more than ready for the busy and challenging role ahead of him, but there is a lot of work to be done before the store doors are even opened. From checking that 25,000 own label and branded products are neatly stacked on the shelves, to ensuring that all new members of staff are fully trained, John and his management team will be working extremely hard to add the finishing touches over the coming months.
John comments, "I am absolutely thrilled to be taking up this position and offering shoppers in Hartcliffe an excellent supermarket and superb product range, in a great location."
"Whether shopping in our Market Street fresh food counters, or visiting our customer café and award winning Wines and Spirits Department, our customers can always expect a friendly, personal service, Morrisons style," he added.
An avid golfer, and father to two girls, John was twice named the South West Chess Champion 2 years running as a young lad.
