New Face In Store For Llanelli

03/08/2007

Morrisons, which opens in Llanelli in October, has named the new store's general manager as Valerie Powell.

Valerie joined Morrisons in 2001 and has accomplished much in her six years. She joined the company as a general manager of the Morrisons Barry store, and in 2004 she successfully oversaw the opening of the Morrisons Swansea store. After two years at Swansea, she went on to become general manager at the Rogerstone store.

Now Valerie is looking forward to opening day and believes that she is more than ready for the busy and challenging role ahead of her, but there is a lot of work to be done before the store doors are even opened. From checking that 25,000 own label and branded products are neatly stacked on the shelves, to ensuring that all new members of staff are fully trained, Valerie and her management team will be working extremely hard to add the finishing touches to the Llanelli over the coming months.

Valerie comments, "I am absolutely thrilled to be taking up this position and offering shoppers in Llanelli an excellent supermarket and superb product range, in a great location. Whether shopping in our Market Street fresh food counters, or visiting our customer café and award winning Wines and Spirits Department, our customers can always expect a friendly, personal service, Morrisons style."

46 year old Valerie is from Bridgend and has an 18 year old son. She enjoys interior and fashion design and has a particular fondness for West End musicals. Val thoroughly enjoys her job and is especially proud of being part of such a successful company. She relishes the opportunity to be able to help staff develop their own personal careers.
