Morrisons, which opens in York in October, has named the new store's general manager as Paul Saville.
Paul's career with Morrisons originated in Bradford 15 years ago, when he worked the night shift. He was promoted to night shift manager and has since taken on a variety of managerial roles, including deputy general manager at the Morrisons flagship store in Bradford. His most recent position has been store general manager at Morrisons Starbeck, which he held for four and a half years.
Paul is looking forward to opening day and believes that he is more than ready for the busy and challenging role ahead of him, but there is a lot of work to be done before the store doors are even opened. From checking that 25,000 own label and branded products are neatly stacked on the shelves, to ensuring that all new members of staff are fully trained, Paul and his management team will be working extremely hard to add the finishing touches over the coming months.
Paul comments, "I am absolutely thrilled to be taking up this position and offering shoppers in York an excellent supermarket and superb product range, in a great location."
"Whether shopping in our Market Street fresh food counters, or visiting our customer café and award winning Wines and Spirits Department, our customers can always expect a friendly, personal service, Morrisons style," he added.
Paul, who is originally from Bradford, is a Bradford City supporter. Before embarking on his successful career within Morrisons, he previously worked as a Welder and Steel Fabricator.
