New face in store for Erskine

27/07/2007

Morrisons, which opens in Erskine in September, has named the new store's general manager as Russell McCaw.

Russell's career with Morrisons originated in Paisley, as a student with Safeway, over 23 years ago. Since then he has worked in 11 locations in a variety of positions in central Scotland. Russell has been store general manager in six stores and this will be Russell's second time working in Erskine as a general manager.

Russell is looking forward to opening day and believes that he is more than ready for the busy and challenging role ahead of him, but there is a lot of work to be done before the store doors are even opened. From checking that 25,000 own label and branded products are neatly stacked on the shelves, to ensuring that all new members of staff are fully trained, Russell and his management team will be working extremely hard to add the finishing touches over the coming months.

Russell comments, "I am absolutely thrilled to be taking up this position and offering shoppers in Erskine an excellent supermarket and superb product range in a great location."

"Whether shopping in our Market Street fresh food counters, or visiting our customer café and award winning wines and spirits department, our customers can always expect a friendly, personal service, Morrisons style," he added.

40 year old Russell, from Renfrewshire, has been married for eight years with three young children. Russell proudly states that his family are his greatest achievement. Russell enjoys the benefits of working as a part of such a large and dynamic store team, and relishes the fact that no two days are the same.
