Shoppers at Morrisons stores are being offered the best supermarket customer service and product availability in the UK. The chain has come top for both Customer Service and Availability as judged by the prestigious industry magazine, The Grocer. Morrisons has now won this customer service title for three years running.
The awards are made based on the annual results of the ‘Grocer 33' shopping basket survey. Conducted throughout the year at major supermarkets in eight UK regions, each week a ‘mystery shopper' visits six selected stores with a set shopping list. They then report back with details of product availability, price and customer service received - and a weekly winner is announced.
Adam Leyland, Editor of The Grocer said: "Great customer service and strong availability are essential ingredients of a successful grocery retailer. The last year has been one of change for Morrisons and it's a great achievement to see that they continue to put their customers first, with excellent in-store service and product availability."
Morrisons stores won the annual Customer Service award. This award recognises whether a store is clean and tidy; if aisles are free from shelf stackers and packing trolleys; whether a store is well merchandised with products easy to find; if staff are efficient and helpful; whether sufficient checkouts are open for the volume of customers – and whether or not help was available to pack bags.
Morrisons also won the award for best Availability. This award measures the number of products that are in stock. Morrisons was ranked first; over the year all products were available in 97.92% of shopping visits.
