Local Morrisons are once again looking for Scotland's great Scots. For the third year running, Morrisons, the UK's 4th largest supermarket group, is the title sponsor of the Great Scot Awards.
As part of this, Morrisons has established the Community Champions Award - to recognise individuals or groups who work tirelessly to improve their local community. Here Morrisons is encouraging members of the public to nominate someone they know has been an inspiration with their acts of kindness, courage or willingness to go that little bit further for other people.
Four Community Champions finalists will be selected to receive £250 from Morrisons towards each of their worthy projects. They will also be invited to attend the prestigious Great Scott Awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow on Saturday 15th September hosted by Elaine C Smith. Here the overall Community Champions winner will be announced, who will receive a further donation of £1,000 towards their cause.
Those wishing to make a nomination can visit any of Scotland's 49 Morrisons stores to pick up and post an entry form at Customer Services. Nomination forms are available from the end of May until the 10th August. Alternatively members of the public can vote on line at www.greatscotawards.co.uk.
