We pride ourselves on having the best availability within the industry. Making sure that we have 100% availability of our products when our customers want to buy them is a major task and one that we handle almost entirely within the business.
We buy, pack and distribute many of the fruit and vegetables that we sell, keeping quality standards high but the cost low. Through Wm Morrison Produce Ltd fresh produce, plants and flowers are delivered into temperature controlled warehouses and packing plants in Cheshire, Northampton and Yorkshire as well as in Holland, for prompt onward delivery to our stores.
At our purpose built fresh food factory, Farmers Boy Ltd in Bradford, we produce pizzas, pies and savoury rolls. We also pack cheese and produce and pack sausages, flavoured meats, gammon and bacon.
We also operate two meat processing facilities; one in Lancashire and one in Aberdeen to supply fresh meat to the butchers in our stores.
Our network of regional distribution centres and depots serving our stores across the country, include Wakefield 41 Distribution Centre, Gadbrook Park in Northwich, Cheshire, Stockton Distribution Centre, Latimer Park and Corby Distribution Centre.
We operate and maintain a large transport fleet, together with much of our Mechanical Handling Equipment in addition to managing our selected third party contractors.
