Delicious cocktails don’t have to be alcoholic. Whether you’re catering for a guest who is driving home or you simply feel like something lighter, here are a few recipe ideas for some delicious and healthy non-alcoholic drinks.
Blueberry Slim
• 150g blueberries
• 150g strawberries
• 300ml ‘Schweppes’ Slimline Tonic Water
Place the blueberries and hulled strawberries in a liquidiser and a little tonic water. Blend until smooth then top up with the remaining tonic water. Serve over ice, if preferred.
Ginger Haze
• 200ml clear apple juice
• 200ml Canada Dry Slimline Ginger Ale
• Juice of 1 lime
• 1 lime cut into pieces to decorate, if preferred
Fill small tumblers with ice and pour in the apple juice. Add the lime juice and top with ginger ale. Serve with a twist of lime.
Virgin Mary
• 150ml tomato juice
• Tabasco sauce
• Worcestershire sauce
• Fresh lemon juice
• Celery salt and pepper
• To garnish, a stick of celery and a wedge of lime
Shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Serve in a tall glass over ice. Garnish with a celery stick and a wedge of lime.
Chilled Colada
• Pineapple juice
• Coconut milk
Place a couple of handfuls of ice and 2 parts of pineapple juice to 1 part of coconut milk into a blender. Blend and pour into a chilled Martini glass.
Light Breeze
• 150ml Cranberry juice
• 150ml Grapefruit juice
• 1 piece of lime
Pour the cranberry and grapefruit juice into a tall glass half filled with ice. Stir and garnish with a piece of lime.
Melon Magic
• 1/2 cantaloupe melon
• 500ml ‘The Best’ Grape and Melon juice, chilled
• Melon pieces and grapes to serve
Cut a cantaloupe melon in half. Scoop out seeds and pulp most of the flesh in a liquidiser and add the chilled grape and melon juice. Pour into 6 tall tumblers with ice. Serve with melon pieces and halved grapes on a stick.
