The Wine of the Month celebrates the wonderfully varied and exciting world of wine by introducing smaller parcels of wine from lesser known areas and vineyards. Some of the wines featured have unusual grape varieties or are great value alternatives to well known wines. All the wines are exclusive to Morrisons and will give the customer an opportunity to try something rarely stocked by a major retailer. We have sourced these wines from all over the world to combine value, individuality and great quality and hope our customers enjoy them!
Hailing from the family owned Maison des Bulliats in the heart of the Beaujolais region, the Regnié Beaujolais as a well priced and fantastic wine. Regnié is the 10th and most recent village to be assigned the “Beaujolais Cru” status. Made from Beaujolais’ signature grape, Gamay, and produced using the carbonic maceration technique, this is a bright, vibrant wine. Balanced with moderate acidity and soft tannins, the cherry and raspberry flavours hold firm in the mouth.
The Regnié Beaujolais is best served lightly chilled either on its own or with cold meats and salads. This soft red is juicy and fruity but with a good backbone, it’s guaranteed to stand up to any barbecue over the summer season.
