What is a healthy weight?
One of the easiest ways to know whether you have a healthy weight is to work out your body mass index (BMI). Simply divide your weight (in kg) by your height (in metres) squared. A healthy BMI is between 20 and 25.
Stay confident
Losing weight is a big commitment, but it doesn’t have to be a chore. By staying confident and focused you’ll find it easier to keep an eye on those calories.
Be realistic
Don’t disappoint yourself by trying to achieve an unrealistic weight. Remember, just a 10% weight loss can bring health benefits so don’t worry if you feel like things are going slowly.
Have a little patience
You’re more likely to lose weight if you do it steadily. Weigh yourself once a week, using the same scales at the same time of the day. Losing 1-2lbs a week is a good target to aim for.
Keep a balanced diet and stay active
A change in daily routines can play a big part in making those pounds plummet. Why not try walking or cycling to work? Also try to introduce more fruit and veg to your diet and reduce the amount of fat in your foods.
