Cajun-spiced meatballs with spaghetti

A traditional dish… with a twist! Fresh mince is even more delicious with a touch of spice

Ingredients

  • 400g minced beef (½ x 800g pack)
  • 35g sachet Cajun style seasoning
  • 3 slices white bread, blitzed into crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 300g spaghetti
  • 515g jar tomato pasta sauce

    To serve
  • fresh coriander, roughly chopped

Method

  1. Place the mince in a bowl with the Cajun seasoning, breadcrumbs and egg. Mix and divide into 20 balls.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the balls for 10 minutes, turning frequently until browned. Add the pasta sauce, cover, and cook for a further 10 minutes until cooked through and no pink meat remains.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in lightly salted water as per the on-pack instructions.
  4. Drain the pasta, divide between 4 plates and top with meatballs, sauce and coriander.
