Cinnamon snails

Who knew white bread could be turned into delicious snails? Ideal for you to make with your toddler.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole wheat or white bread
  • 60g soft cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  •  1 1⁄2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 60g melted butter

Method

  1. Trim the crusts from the bread slices and spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese on each slice of bread.
  2. Roll up the bread slices with cream cheese on the inside and cut each roll into thirds.
  3. Stir together the sugar and cinnamon until well mixed and dip each cut roll into melted butter, then into the sugary cinnamon mixture. Do not dip the ends of the rolls.
  4. Place the rolls, seam side down, on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 180°C or gas mark 4 for about 12 minutes, or until light brown and crisp. Serve warm or cool.
