Hot & Spicy Chicken Phal

This recipe is so easy and versatile (simply substitute the chicken for prawns, mixed veg, lamb or beef if you prefer).

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ red onion, finely sliced
  • 2 chicken breasts, diced
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 jar of Patak’s Hot & Spicy Phal Cooking Sauce
  • squeeze of lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp coriander, chopped
  • 150g basmati rice
  • 4 tbsp water

Method

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan; add the red onions and sauté until soft and translucent
  2. Add the chicken and seal the meat
  3. Add the tomatoes and the Patak’s Hot & Spicy Phal Cooking Sauce
  4. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes or until the meat is cooked, stirring occasionally
  5. Stir in the lemon juice, season to taste and sprinkle over the coriander
  6. Serve simply with fresh hot basmati rice
