Hot apple and cinnamon wine

A sophisticated infusion of cinnamon wine and fresh seasonal apples.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Good French Red wine
  • 1 litre apple juice
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 strips orange peel
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, broken up
  • apple slices, to garnish

Method

  1. Pour the red wine into a saucepan. Add apple juice to taste with the brown sugar and orange peel.
  2. Stir well and add the cinnamon.
  3. Heat the mixture until barely simmering, do not allow to boil.
  4. Once the mixture starts to steam, remove from the heat and divide into six serving glasses (don’t use chilled ones for this recipe).
  5. Garnish with apple slices and serve.
