Ji-Sung Pork Ribs

One of the first names on the team sheet for any barbecue, this classic winner with a Far Eastern twist is sure to please.

Ingredients

  • 2 racks of pork ribs
  • 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low salt)
  • 1 tbsp clear honey
  • 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
  • 1 bunch spring onions, shredded

Method

  1. Place the pork ribs in a large pan – if you need to cut them in half to do this don’t worry. Cover with water then bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400F/200C/Gas 6.
  3. Drain the ribs then arrange onto a baking tray. Mix together the marinade ingredients and brush evenly over the ribs. Place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes until sticky and piping hot, basting half way through.
  4. Lift onto a board, slice through each rib and stack onto a plate, scatter with spring onions.

Cooks Tip: Ribs are great on the barbie. Check in store for a fantastic range of barbecues, cooking tools and accessories.
