Steak with chimmichurri

Serve up a sizzling steak packed full of flavour with this simple recipe video. We’ve chosen a juicy cut from our traditional British beef range.

Ingredients

  • 4 x 225g (approx) Traditional beef steaks - Denver, Bullet or Flat Iron
  • 15g flat leaf parsley
  • 2 shallots, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • ½ tsp dried oregano

To Serve

  • remaining sauce
  • chunky chips

Method

  1. Before cooking remove the steaks from the fridge for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove the stalks from the parsley and chop the leaves finely. Place in a food processor with the shallots, garlic, chilli flakes, vinegar, oil, lemon juice and oregano then season. Blitz for 5 seconds.
  3. Arrange the steaks onto a shallow plate. Spread a teaspoon of the sauce evenly over both sides of each steak.
  4. Heat a large non-stick frying pan until piping hot and add the steaks. For medium-cooked, pan-fry for 5 minutes on each side (8 minutes for Flat Iron steak) or for longer if you prefer them well done. Ensure the surface of the meat is fully sealed.
  5. Remove from the heat, cover to keep warm and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve with chunky chips and the remaining sauce.
