Cheesy chicken nuggets

Classic nuggets with a gooey cheese crust.

Ingredients

  • 2 large skinless boneless chicken breasts
  • 40g plain flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 100g white breadcrumbs
  • 30g finely grated Cheddar cheese
  • oil for deep frying
  • ketchup or dip to serve

Method

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite sized cubes and toss in the plain flour.
  2. Set out in a row the beaten egg in a shallow bowl, the breadcrumbs mixed with the cheese and a clean large plate.
  3. Next dip the flour dusted chicken in the beaten egg, then in the cheese crumbs to coat evenly.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fat fryer or large pan to 190C and fry the chicken nuggets for 6-8 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain onto absorbent kitchen paper and serve with ketchup for dipping.
