Baked ginger pears

A lovely, fruity dessert making the most of ripe pears.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe Conference pears
  • 2 knobs of stem ginger in syrup
  • 2 tbsp soft brown sugar
  • grated rind of half a lemon
  • pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 150ml Morrisons The Best pressed apple juice
  • 4 tbsp half-fat crème fraîche

 

Method

  1. Heat oven to 180ºC/160ºC Fan/Gas 4.
  2. Peel and halve the pears. Place them in a baking dish with the ginger, syrup, sugar, rind, cinnamon and juice. Cover with foil.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Serve with the crème fraîche.
