Let's Grow

Morrisons has been working with a number of gardening experts and teachers to create a selection of useful lesson plans, all for bringing the Let’s Grow experience to life in your school.

Getting growing

Before starting your gardening project, please ensure you carry out a thorough health and safety assessment including a soil check to ensure your school grounds are safe for gardening. Contact your Local Authority about your proposed garden site, they will be able to advise about the history of the site and ensure it is safe for gardening.

Resources for key stages

The following resources have been divided into six broad themes, under which you'll find clearly labelled resources for foundation level and all key stages 1 - 4.

Foundation stage

Take a look at our crop of fun growing activities for kids aged 3 – 6, to help mini-gardeners understand where plants and seeds come from and what they need to grow.

Key stage 1

Get our easy-to-use lesson plans for kids aged 5 – 7. These fun classroom activities cover everything from flowers and fruits, to how plants make their own food.

Key stage 2

Try our Key Stage 2 lesson plans for kids aged 7-11, from building a bird feeder and creating a mosaic, to learning about seeds and the importance of compost.

Key stage 3

Follow our fun and engaging lesson plans for children aged 11 – 14. They’re bursting with brilliant activities, from finding out how plants trap the sun’s energy to creating an Indian style garden.

Key stage 4

See our flexible teaching resources for 14 – 16 year olds. They’re full of interesting activities, covering everything from homegrown produce to the financial and social benefits of farming.
