We produce more of the food we sell than any other supermarket. In fact, with our own fruit and vegetable packing plants, bakeries, and meat and cheese processing plants, we’re one of the top five food producers in Britain.
Unlike any other supermarket, we also only sell 100% British fresh beef, lamb and pork, cut and prepared in-store by our trained butchers. What’s more, the majority of the fresh meat you'll find on the shelves at your local Morrisons has been cut and prepared by our in-store butchers too.
The benefit to our customers of this unique way of working is that we can ensure the source, quality and freshness of our food. It means we always have the fresh produce that our customers want to buy in stock and, because we have cut out the middlemen, it also means we can keep our prices low.
Of course, it all starts with our farmers and growers who we work closely with to select the fresh food that we sell. We then process and deliver over 80% our fresh fruit and vegetables ourselves. And we don’t just know our onions!
We know what’s in our sausages and pies because we made them ourselves and because we operate our own transport fleet and distribution network, we can ensure this arrives in store at its freshest.
